Just as I expected. But not much hardware improvement as I anticipated. Modest revolutionary nonetheless. Click on the image for more info! (photo credit: Apple).

iphone 3gs

The new iPhone 3GS (s meant for Speed) are:

1. Processor 2x faster than the existing iPhone 3G;

2. You can shoot video, trim the footage etc by just tapping your finger. Video in VGA though;

3. Comparable to existing other cell phone with modest 3MP with autofocus function;

4. Voice recognition & control. Yep;

5. err.. build-in digital compass. So you won’t lose your way around;

6. Internet tethering!! ;

7. Better battery life ( I hope so) but it is still non-removable. yikes;

8. Nike + iPod!! Woohooo! Finally! Nike + (I’m Apple and Nike freak. so haha!);

9. Bigger storage! yeay! 16GB and 32GB!;

10. Sending MMS instantly without using the swirlmms (or smthg like that);

11. Hardware upgrade that supportOpenGL|ES standard (Better graphic for gaming-purposes I suppose?);

12. Connectivity – The standard 7.2 Mbps HSDPA is supported;

My  wishlist (let down)the upcoming model:

1. Second-front camera ( I don’t care if the quality sucks);

2. Built-in FM transmitter (So I can sync my ahem.. iPhone to my car stereo without third party transmitter);

3. Apple logo on the back will glow – just like the macbook family.

I’m sooooo getting the white! :) mark my word.

DOUBLE COMBO APPLE NEWS ALERT!

Yes! iPhone is finally arrived in Malaysia ‘legally’!! wooohooooooo!

It’s time for me to join maxis family. wooot wooot! I’m still reviewing the Maxis rate plan, you can visit it here for the rate plan and booking!

Place your booking now before 17 March to get invited into the official launching!

iphone-malaysia

Hmmmmmmmmm……. well errr, the rate plan look similar like any other telco provider around Asia. So, yeah.

I’m still thinking of getting it or not. Am i over iPhone already or not?

I mean, I’ve been toying around with iPhone 2G & 3G (my cousie bought 2 set from NZ) for sometime now. I know iPhone inside & out. Do i need to own one to satisfy my lust?  :)

Rate Plan Analysis

I can see the pattern between the 12 month, 24 and  6 months of iPhone. Lets just discuss on 8GB rate plan. The cheapest monthly commitment among all plan.

As total, the value of iPhone 3G (8GB) for 12 month will cost you about RM2.1k, 24 month will cost you about 1.91k and 6 month will cost about 3.04k. This is how I see it : Cost of iPhone 3G + advance payment = iPhone price offered.

The parallel import of iPhone 3G in Malaysia cost about Rm 3k-ish, depending on your location.  I personally believe that it is worth taking the 24 month contract if if you weigh the cost of iPhone 3G.

But, iPhone 3G supposingly to cost ONLY 199USD, which is roughly about 731.572 MYR (1USD = 3.67 MYR), plus shipment, yada yada and in total it should be 1k MYR. I’ll pay cash if they are selling iPhone for 1k MYR, I’m dang serious!

So, if you are taking the 24 month plan, it means that, the charge 900 MYR for each set for the exclusivity to get partnering with Apple and to sell iPhone 3G in Malaysia.

Any comment?

I have not yet discuss on the rate plan! The worth plan, 24 month contract? OMG. It’s 2 years people! lets say, you subscribe to 100/month for 8GB, 24 month contract. It means you are tied up with the telco for 2400MYR over 2 years!

Moreover, iPhone 3G has been in the market for quite sometime now – middle of 2008. I know the spec better, whats good and whatsnot! Macrumors stated that the newer, better, improvised iPhone will be released somewhere around June/July this year (iPhone Nano perhaps? Not sure, but macrumors always spread/leak truthful info on the Apple products), so why not wait?

Oh come on, please browse my blog for whats good and whatsnot on the current model.

So, ask yourself my dear reader, is it worth the plan offered by dear Malaysia telco for Malaysian to own an iPhone 3G?

*shrugs* (run to Maxis store in Damai)

hahahahhahahhahha! I kid you lah! :p I’m still in the office, discussing with gadget freak-o on the worthy on the plan.

It is deja vu.  Something similar to Philippines telco offering the contract-based plan.

Except their plan, you can choose to either subscribe to postpaid or stick to prepaid. and again, commitment weigh the value of iPhone 3G.

Some other iPhone-freak-Malaysian-bloggers stated bluntly in their blog that it is not worth getting the iPhone over telco M but then again, it’s your choice to weigh the value according to your own commitment/enthusiasm towards the gadget.

Afterall, I’m paying more than it cost for all the Apple products i own. But mostly, it is top-of-the-line technology. iPhone is still in preliminary stage & gradually improving its spec. So, as for me, I rather wait.

I’ve come accoss the comparison (in spreadsheet) on the aforementioned plan. Credit to Mr Charles for link it to his blog.

Case study: I waited until the 5th/6th generation of iPod before getting one. By then, the spec improved, the design becoming sleeker, storage becoming bigger. :)

p/s: I checked iPhone official website, and Malaysia not in the list yet? What’s that mean? Buying from somebody else & not direct from Apple? Very questionable. :) oh please, telco M, clarify with me!

The New iPod Shuffle!

I can’t help but to scrutinize the NEW sleek design of iPod Shuffle.

It can’t be helped! But the new shuffle looks like tampon. MWHAHAHAHAHA

You can just stick it right up! OMG. I’m so MEAN. :P

Have a nice day y’all!

One of the requirement during field work for EIA is land-use survey within 1/3/more km radius from the Project site. I applied the same principle to my visit to 1Borneo cellphone fair at the centre court today. I see lotsa promoter wearing Celcom blue tee and I guess, bluek.. another celcom promo tour. LOL.

What really attract me to go to the centre court was one roller banner with apple logo on it and ‘iPhone 3G’.

My feet automatically shift my direction from going towards Charles & Keith to the centre court. LOL.

and guess what, I played with X1 today! OMFG.. it fits perfectly to my hand (hint, hint)

se_xperia1But… it cost about 3888MYR here as in 15 Nov 08. dang.

Then again, what directed me to the centre court was the partially eaten apple. the 3G in black.

iphone2This beauty cost about 3338 MYR for 8GB here. :(

Lookie, lookie! Price for these two precious consist of my favorite numbers, 3 and 8! Good sign! :)

I visited nokia booth as well. I was thinking, maybe I should opt for simpler phone. So I was checked out N85 today too. Cool spec. dual-slider. But since s500i, slider phone not good for me. This is the cheapest phone that I checked-out. 1788MYR.

nokia-n85-dual-slider1

Other than that, I visited HTC booth too. and checked out HTC Touch Pro. Impressive spec, nice QWERTY keyboard but very thick. Cost about 3099 MYR.

htc_touch_pro

I wanted to try out HTC Touch HD, but they are running out of stock today. sigh. HTC Touch HD retailing at 3399 MYR. Not bad, another model to be iPhone-killer.

htc-touch-hd-combo

Oh god, please help me decide.

Oh, and I was thinking of getting Blackberry Bold too. But what I don’t like about this is the commitment (to the service provider of course).

blackberry-bold1

Another baby that will be under my observation for the next few months. HTC/T-Mobile G1 (or whatever the name is). This phone will be installed with the new OS from google, Android. More info here!

Only available for US market ATM! :)

Hmmmm. But after all the screening etc, I can conclude that iPhone still hold the winner title for the most responsive screen that I’d ever play-with. Despite the shabby-spec and hardware requirement (2MP camera phone, oh come-on Mr Gates, you can do better than that!), I still love the safari and iTunes in it.

HTC, Samsung and SE has come up with better spec that are comparable (and some, even better) than iPhone. but I still want …(fill in the blank).

aww I can’t write good gadget review.. as my opinion and liking will always tilting to mac products. LOL.

Enough said!

I’m always the kind of person that talks about high-end technology. Keeping up with the latest tech in town (or not yet arrived in town) and all that. I’ve been blogging on how much i want to put my hands on X1 and iPhone. (i’m still hoping to, one day).

But a week ago, my SE died on me. I mean, totally died; no battery able to bring back life to my s500i unless a total makeover from the sonyericsson service centre. I won’t send it back to the centre as I just replace the lcd & the hinge a month back. The phone reacting back & I won’t spend few hundreds on repairing it. That’s it.

I surprised myself by sending SE to the service centre in the first place. I never ‘repair’ my phone. If something wrong with the phone, I’ll just throw it away & buy new ones (Yes, I’m that arrogant).

I don’t know what’s wrong with me this time, trying to save my SE life when its already a year of using it (and a high time to change as I never use phone more than a year/or two).

Ok back to the story. My SE died on me. I literary feel like my soul parting from my body. I can’t live without phone. I mean, I’ve been getting used to connected to the telco’s network since I was 13, and I NEVER switch off my phone (unless I’m flying or in the examination hall) for the past 10 years. So being disconnected from the yellow-man network really depressed me.

I’m not getting much smses & calls as compared to before but I’m in need on constant connectivity to the world just in case my boss, colleague & even client called for something urgent. Or what happened when my tire puncture in the middle of say, Lintas road & I’m in need of calling someone to help? It is important for me to get connected.

Lucky being in the family of gadget-conscious, daddy been generous enough to lend his phone to me till i get new ones. The set-back is, he’s not lending his N-series or the Communicator to me. Instead, he let me use his cheapo-phone ‘TVmobile’ made-in-China phone he bought for fun in Dubai. I was like, wtf?

Ok Ok, I should be grateful because he’s letting me use his phone temporarily till I can sort out my phone problem.

china_tv_mobile_phone_rotatable_screen_greek_dual_sim_standby_bluetooth_fm_3_2inch20087141052222

Fine, this has a tv-function, everything else nothing to be bragged about. Not even an explorer. I can’t even log on to my msn and/or ym mobile.

No all of the aforementioned criteria, fine! I can live without it but the reception really bad ’till I fought with the great one as the great one can’t hear what I’m saying when I’m already shouting trying to get my voice over the silly-lil-thing. The great one said that until I get new phone, the great one won’t call or even talk to me. Fine.

And this super slow acquaintance of mine ( I can’t believe I’m still putting him on trust for iphone hunting in HK) trying to get one for me, and until now ‘ habuk pun tarak’ ( apa punya kawan la wei!). WTF.

So I said to everyone, Fcuk off! I’m buying cheapo phone with NO camera, NO internet browser, NO real tone, NO msn/ym, NO mms, NO multitouch screen, NO QWERTY, No GPS, No google earth application, No bluetooth, No Active Matrix OLED technology, No microSD slot up to 16GB, NO Quad-band, NO HSDPA up to 7.6Mbps, NO EDGE class B, NO WLAN, NO video calling, NO E-mails supported application, NO 5MP with CMOS sensor, Carl Zeiss optic, IS, and YES, NO to everything.

nokia1209

and all I got is this.

Oh shuttup! My pride’s hurt.

So f-off! :~(

I have never been a fan of the Sex and the City series (due to not really, really watching the series from the very beginning) and thank god for that! No offense people! I’m pretty much easily get addicted to series like the mentioned. My loss for not being in the hype & crazy over the series, storyline, haute couture & the NY life. :)

But hey! Its not too late to love the series! Ha,ha. I just watched the movie & I find myself in tears in a couple of scenes. Give me a break! I’m a girl too. I am allowed to get sappy & tearful over a couple of scenes, so.. :p
After the movie, I find that:
1. I fall in love with Mr Big character. I want my own Mr. Big *grin*
2. The story-line is pretty much like a fantasy reality. Oh how I love when Big proposed to Carrie with a blue Melono Blahnik but at the same time, yep, everyone can get rejected & brokenhearted. That is part of life.
3. I just love the soundtrack. I love the new Fergie’s Labels or Love song, Jennifer Hudson’s All Dressed Up In Love as well as old track being re-mix into house-easy listening such as Nina Simone-The Look of Love.
4. oh yeah! apple all the way! macbook pro. iphone. All the edgy-gadget in the movie :)

Which reminds me to get the see-thru hard shell cover for my Macbook. I drop by the shop selling Apple products & came across the guy i fight/flirt with over the apple products. So today I made a bet with him: If I’m not getting Leopard by September, I’m dead. LOL.
By few discussion with one Apple enthusiast, I decided to choose black case for my macbook. Reason? I own a white AND black Macbook! LOL. How cool is that?
Anyway, I love other color as well… lime green, purple as well as pink. awww.

Incase Hardshell for Macbook in black

Yep I went to 1Borneo today as it is ‘unofficially’ open its door to public. Well, my first impression was, whoa, not bad lah. The developer still rushing to finish up everything. Basically the mall & its adjacent hotels are in the finishing phase but for condos, they are still struggling with the floor construction.

I hope this mall will have sufficient parking lot to accommodate the number of visitors especially during the weekend. The first shop that makes me go ga-ga was the French Connection! FCUK finally reaching KK!

There are some other bigger store open in 1B as compared to the one in Warisan such as Charles & Keith, Esprit, Billabong, Blush etc.  Argh I can’t remember all the shops, but some that i take notice are M.A.C cosmetic!!, Braun Buffel!!!!, Tune store, Nine West, MNG, Crocs, GUESS, Euro Moda, Samsonite, and etc.

However, I can’t locate my Zara yet. :(

Owh, some of the cafe that I notice during my visit was Starbucks, Kenny Roger & RCH. We weren’t really walk to every lane & corner. mwhahaha.

Th GSC 1Borneo wasn’t that bad, as compared to the one in downtown. It is much more better. But it is incomparable to the Cineleisure Damansara! I sooo LOVE the Cineleisure The Curve! :)

I come across one blog that give in-depth information regarding the updates in Sabah. You can check it here! Bravo!

I went to 1B with si Adamz. He’s down in KK for some fam thingy. mwhahaha. Then we went off to Warisan Sq for lunch etc. I then went ga-ga over his iphone! warghghghgh. i want an iPhone!!

me promoting iPhone!

oh dang! Now I seriously want one. I have made up my mind. I’m getting iPhone over xperia X1! But of course I have to wait until end of this year (the earliest) to get my hands on the 2nd generation! :)

I met his ‘cute’ friend too & we hang-out at Starbucks Warisan & everyone went ga-ga again over gadgets. I brought along my macbook too, obviously. *rofl.

ah I can’t sleep tonight. I still can feel the iphone on my palm & fingertip! *Soi oh ko adamz. LOL.

Oh btw, 1Borneo is not located in the city centre. It is located along the Jalan Sulaman-UMS. So in order to increase human traffic to the Project area, they are planning to offer hovercraft service to transport people from the city centre & the airport. Cool eh. The reason being to transport people straight to the airport is that, 1B will housed 4 hotels, Tune Hotel, Novotel 1B, Mercure and BEST WESTERN Coutryard Hotel. The taxi ride will cost a bomb to transfer tourist from the airport to 1Borneo.

Hovercraft in KK?

Could this kind of hovercraft will be another new added item to KK-Likas seaview ?

p/s: To all my DusunKadazan friends, and whoever celebrated Harvest Festival, Kotobian Tadau Do Kaamatan! Moginum kita (cheers) !! Ha.ha.

Hmmm… I’m thinking of driving to Karambunai beach tomorrow, alone.

Decision, decision. I’m browsing for smart-phone to replace my s500i now.

So I was thinking, shall i opt for the latest SE phone; Xperia X1;

or shall I wait for the 2nd generation of iphone?

Decision. Decision.

Help me!

Mua!
